Seasons Past (Ice Climbing Part 7)

... folks could be ice climbing around here as early as next week (although the current weather forecast "ain't predicting it") - pulled some old photographs from the "archives" for those needing a "fix", with some areas "less visited" since the development of the massive 'Secret Cliffs II' years ago...

... this is from Thanksgiving Day, maybe 2001 - Tim Anderson and Tom Kopler starting a steep and pretty thin mixed line up at 'Secret Cliffs I...

... Tim on some route up at 'Kinzua Dam'...

... the old 'Tunnel Cliffs' - that wall has since been quarried and no longer exists - that's Dan Downs and another guy whose name I forget...

... 'Confluence' in good condition - many folks out this day...

... Brintton Price high up a steep route at 'Confluence'...

... Dave Lane on a mixed line at 'Meadow Run'...

... Ha! - good sequence of events as Tim takes a tumble and rolls downhill on the approach in to 'Secret Cliffs I'...

... back on his feet...

... and lookin' more solid here up on 'Toot Toot' located in the 'Yough River Gorge' - Matt Johns belaying...

... "solo" walkup at the nearby 'Cascade', 'Yough River Gorge'...

... Tim and Tom on some pretty colorful 'brown ice' up near 'Rich Hill' - that wall has since been (further) quarried as well...

... Dave Lane on a narrow streak up at Secret Cliffs I'...

... Doyle Tarwater on the same...

... Tom doin' a mixed variation...

... and "topping it out"...

... just a short "SWPA sampler" for fun - some pretty good stuff around these parts when conditions are right...
